Mahabaleshwar, peace for a while

I have been to Mahabaleshwar a lot of time, and it’s the most common hill station for
Mumbaikar.

So I’m here to share my personal experience of my recent visit to mahabaleshwer, take it as my personal blog.

It was December when we decided to take a break from hectic life and enjoy for a bit, and what’s a better way to release stress than being around nature. We didn’t care where we just needed a vacation.

Soon we decided the whole plan to Mahabaleshwar and were ready to hit road
We booked a private mini bus so that we didn’t have to deal with other transportation in malabaleshwer, as I recall there is not much public transport in malabaleshwer,

We took from Mumbai at 1 in the night and were expected to reach our destination at 10 in the morning, the journey was fun with songs, games with the window seat.

We all were excited, as we were together and had 4 days of fun waiting for us. We all were not just singing songs but we were screaming it as loud as we can. Hahahahah

And then suddenly we got some problem, bus tire got punctured, it was a good time to explore what is around us for a while, till the driver fix it up

We were on a curved upward going road, and on the other side it was a cliff, from there we saw a tiny lights flashing from a village down there, I sat at a rock looking to the passing trucks and felt sorrow as I remembered Zoya (Don’t know who Zoya is, well read my Varanasi blog), I don’t know what came in my mind I took my phone and started to record the video of passing trucks and wrote something about my future and zoya

I started getting thoughts like: just like this time too will fly and show us its potential, in couple of months college will be over, what I’m gonna do after that what will happen to Zoya’s and my story?, will there be an end to it?. I guess we were still on no talking terms, god why do we do that, what my future holds for me?, what I’m going to do with life.

Now I don’t know why in the name of holy river Ganga I was thinking about that, the whole point of this trip was to enjoy and relax.

Soon, I was distracted as I heard my friends shouting my name as the bus was all set to leave.
I remember I pass out at 4 in the morning and woke up at 8, just to witness the beauty of a town rested in the mountains

Sun was already up and the  sky was lit up with red colour, as we were going up and up temperature begin to drop and cold winds welcomed us, it was like an invitation from the mountains.
As the  bus took zig zag turns on the ghats and showed us the view of tiny village In between the mountain, I wondered how would it feel to live there, I wish I could live there, away from city crowd, it seems like a dream.

Soon we reached our resort, it was even better than the photos we saw before booking it, It had a huge swimming pool in the middle and surrounded by huge cottages, and mountains and greenery around it, and cotton candy like cloud hovered us. It looked like movie set to be honest. And the view from our window was worth remembering

As the resort was full of small cute cottages, few of them had terrace, I don’t know what came in Sagar’s mind, he came to me and said “chaal upper jate hai”, how was I supposed to deny this ?,
Hiding eyes from the resort staff and struggling not to get caught we reached the terrace, up there it was not meant to come, it was steep and dangerous but oh God! What a view, we could see at least one-fourth of the city.

I don’t what came in my mind but when I saw my friends down there cheering us for god know what, I started shouting the dialogue “gaav waalo me jaaa raha huu, bhagwan me aa rha huu” pretending myself as Veeru paji. Hahahaha

Trust me looking down from the top was circulating shivers to my spine but “boss kick milta hai”, I still regret that my friends didn’t captured this, later we were busted by the staff and were given warning not to perform such actions again.

We rested for a while, played in the pool and then moved to explore. It was 6 in the evening, We first headed towards the market, it was huge to be exact, it had so many lanes that even we got confused, which to take, night life is amazing, all the shop were lighted up with various colours, and the crowd and people yelling was hitting us differently.

This market was specifically was for tourism, it had handcrafts, artefacts, leathers, and fun activities like 7D games and a lot of berries.

Corn pattice is something that I will never forget that we eat there, it was so delicious and trust me I have tried to find that here in Mumbai but can’t get it, it’s the speciality of Mahabaleshwar, but Strawberry remains the first.

Next day we decided to visit panchagani, to visit lodwick point, it has its own fun like a small hiking, as we were up, we could see the half city down us, and clouds above us

There was a pond in between and it was full of horses, it peaceful up there, with the beauty green lush around us covered with clouds, and huge mountains far as you could see.

Massive mountains and rivers, at one point there are green mountains and on the other side bold Rocky Mountains with deep and dark lakes. I don’t know but textured clouds plays their role and enhances the magnificent scenery

Soon we took off as we needed to cover the mapro garden, there was nothing up there, just the cultivation of strawberries and vast gardens with colourful flowers, and I regret leaving lodwick point to come here.

At 9 In the night when we were laying in our rooms, we came to know that there was karaoke was being held in resort, we immediately rush there with excitement, but soon I felt shy to sing in front of strangers. Soon I realised it now I never situation, I gathered my courage to sing, but the song I decide to sing was already taken by some other person, but then I took the song “A DIL HAAI MUSHKIL” to be honest my hand and legs were shaking, my heart was racing like it was about to explode while singing, but still I did it, I know people will might say I’m a terrible singer, but I enjoyed it

Soon after the embarrassing session we took a night walk outside the resort, as we were walking we could hear the sound of hissing insects, the whistle of winds as it passes by, it felt relaxing.

Next day we visited Wilson point early morning to witness the beauty of sunrise, it felt magical as the dark blue sky was turning dark to purple to orange, It was remarkable, and all the mountains were shining bright with it. We stood there froze for few minutes, and stayed some time there and then moved to veena lake for boating.

Veena lake was packed with tourist, it was like marine drive for Mahabaleshwar, I guess
That place was filled with giant and muscular horses, it was fun searching everyone’s names on horses and to be surprised we discovered everyone’s names, still can’t believe it
Then we had struggle a lot to stand in the queue for the boating tickets, but it was worth it

It was delightful as we settled in the boat, I remember Shruti aka (fatsoo) saying “maan karta hai ider h rukh ka, kabhi vapis nhi jane ka”

As we were on the boat, we even had a small race with our companion in other boat, we were forcing our boat drivers to row the oars fast. Hahahahahaha
I was with Sagar, aditi and Shruti in one boat and rest in others. And hell yes as expected we lost, poor us

Boat ride was peaceful, it felt like we were slowly sinking into nature, the humming sound of birds flying around us, the smoothing sound of water and how can I forget the clouds, being close to nature feels different kind of happiness

Then we went to bagicha corner, most famous ice cream parlour in Mahabaleshwar, just to have strawberry milkshake, and trust me it was amazing and worth visiting, and surprisingly it was not a shop, it was as big as a garden with a wealthy crowd

Later that night we enjoyed, relaxed, played, partied and wondered how fast 4 days went, and how much we enjoyed and planned another trip. Hahahahah

As the sun was disappearing behind the mountains, the resort was shining bright, all the trees and pool and garden was lighted up, it felt like raining stars.

We sat near the pool till late in the night, capturing all of it in our heart, everything was perfect sound of nature hissing in our ears, the splashes of water in pool, and as we looked above us, we were stunned, dark sky was shining with infinite stars, I wondered why can’t we get this glimpse in Mumbai?

In the morning we played in the pool and wandered in the local market, and absorbed the vibe as much as we could and in then we hit the road to Mumbai and said a final goodbye to the beauty of Mahabaleshwar, the trip was about to end as we saw the last glimpse of Mahabaleshwar through our window.

And soon we were on busy highway away from nature……………….
