Hello hooman! I’m Ashutosh Gupta !
I’m from this earth only. Yeah! I’m not an alien as they don’t write blogs (perhaps). LOL. I’m a restive one who fancies exploring everything that seems interesting.
I’m a person who loves collecting books more than reading it and that particular thing is termed as Bibliomane. So, yes! I’m a Bibliomane (one who’s passionate about possessing books). I have a fascination with music, especially 80s and 90s bollywood songs so I learned to vibe on music. Seems interesting?
Well, that’s not enough. I love writing, and traveling, but most of all, I’m a Derivatives Trader.
I think I shouldn’t express my love for writing as starting this blog says it all.

Wait! What? I forgot to tell my educational information ?
I’m a risk management professional with a background in the brokerage industry. I specialize in managing market risks, particularly in the areas of options, derivatives, and trading strategies.
Now, for the fun part, my role in HDFC Securities is to make sure Prop traders don’t accidentally set fire to their portfolios or, you know, the entire financial system. Whether it's the magic of options Greeks or keeping derivatives from turning into a horror story, I’m the one they call to stop the madness.
Beside I meticulously compile the approved list of securities accepted as collateral and handle the precise calculation of Expected Credit Loss (ECL) for the MTF book along with Allocation and Short Allocation reporting.
Before this, I was at Kotak Securities, where my job was to make sure proprietary traders didn’t drive us all off a financial cliff with their “brilliant” ideas. Trust me, there were close calls. But hey, someone had to save the day.
I’ve got a degree in Banking and Finance from BSE Institute, because who doesn’t love a good challenge? And because I apparently enjoy putting myself through the wringer, I’m also working on my FRM certification. So, if you want to hear stories of trading catastrophes narrowly avoided, need some risk management advice with a side of sarcasm, or just feel like connecting, hit me up.
