Grave That United Love

I've got a story about something incredibly horrifying but it's not monsters or demons or any of the usual scary stuff it's about something that can strike any one of us at any time and, it's always when we least expect it

What is it then?   Love……..

Yes I know, who says love isn't scary it can really hurt sometimes, love is what people live for and in mysteries it's kind of what they die for.

But the real question is have you ever been in real love?

Dark empty room, with curtains closed perfectly just like Sam liked, sitting alone and sobbing like a ball with his own arms on his leg this wasn’t the best thing he wanted now, but that’s how his life was during that period.

Sam had no friends to hang out with, it had become his habit to spend most of his days like this since the accident

2 months ago Sam had a bad car crash, it messed up his memory so badly that he has lost bits of his memory, but the accident didn’t just affected his memory but his entire perspective of life.

Since then he started to spend time alone with his guilt and blaming himself for everything

Sam had a sister Bella and they were really close, as she was the one he would talk to reduce his burden, Bella too had a soft corner for her brother and that’s why she used to spend his time with him, so that he wouldn’t feel alone.

Sam was sleeping in his room when Bella entered his room but she didn’t wake him up as she was in a hurry to leave for her work.

Bella just looked at his innocent face, and felt bad for his condition, she wanted to help him, but there was nothing she could do to reduce his pain

Bella worked as a waitress in the nearby cafe named "The Bakers" and Sam too visited her there sometimes, as he had no where else to go.

Suddenly Sam woke up from his sleep as he turned and tossed uncomfortably, he felt strange and his feet were cold for unknown reasons

He felt heavy and cold as his heart has stopped pumping blood to his vain, he got up to take a shower to make him feel better

When he came after having a shower, he saw a ring on the table, he was surprised who might have kept that ring on the table, “Bella?” the name stroked in his mind.

Out of curiosity he took the ring and examined it, turned out it was a ladies ring, it was simply stunning with a ruby on it with black stains on it. and he didn’t know why he wore that ring in his index finger.

But when he tried to remove it was stuck in his finger, he applied pressure but nothing happened. He tried to remove it and after multiple unsuccessful attempts he just ignored it

That night Sam was relaxing in his room, when Bella arrived, he inquired her about the ring, but she too had no clue about it.

It was then Sam was annoyed by the damn ring as it wasn’t coming out, he asked Bella to help her, they tried soap, oil to take it out but the ring was stuck,

Bella made fun of him for getting stuck with a ladies ring and now he had no option but to wear it till he found a solution for it

“In the front no I can't get this thing off”, Sam said 

“soap how'd you try it”, Bella mumbled

“I have tried everything except cutting my finger off”, Sam replied

as they were speaking on this topic, their mom entered the room

“Bedtime !school tomorrow,” Mom said

“Come on mom I've still gotta”, replied Bella 

“Bella please don't argue it's late”, his mom clear cut reply

“Hey mom geez”, said annoyed Sam

But his mom ignored him,

“what's matter with her ?” exempted Sam to her sister

This had become common for Sam that his mother would ignore him all the time, and behaved as he never existed for her,

Sam to knew that she had changed since the accident and started to ignore him, and Sam too never tried to come up with an proper apology. But still this behaviour for his mom was bothering Sam from inside, but there was nothing he could do to overcome it, he decided to let the things be as they are

“oh she's got a lot on her mind”, said Bella to Sam

“yeah just so-so you coming or what”, Bella asked

“No I will do a little channel surfing, get the light down, good night”, replied Sam

Soon Sam’s hunt for the channel started and ended with a cosmic play that portrayed love story.

As soon as the play started to turn boring, Sam passed out into sweet dream of his own.

Sam Sam where are you, a beautiful velvet voice echoed

Diamond shaped light blue eyes, some dark circle beneath them, chubby cheeks, long black and silky hair dancing with the gust of wind and a dazzling smile. 

As she was calling Sam, the moon was setting gracefully at her gorgeous face

“There you are Sam, wake up Sam”, she continued and came closer to Sam and with a hint of space she kissed him on his cheeks while he was sleeping

Suddenly with a shock Sam woke up from his dream, he felt uneasy and cold as similar to yesterdays, and with sleepy eyes he scanned his surroundings for the girl he saw in his dream.

He knew it was stupid of him, To do that but his dream felt extraordinarily true.

“Oh man”, he said while exhaling and relaxed again, just with the wish to see her again

In morning  Sam felt different and smiled while remembering his dream about the girl, 

he had nothing to do and no one to share it, so he decided to visit Bella in the cafe to share this happy dream with her

“Heyy there”, Sam surprised Bella by showing him up at her work place

“What are you doing here”, Bella replied

“Why can't I come out here”, Sam mumbled

“You promise not to laugh if I tell you something, you know I've been having these really weird dreams lately about this beautiful girl with long hair and amazing eyes”, explained Sam with a wry grin

So you and every other guy, Bella said and smiled 

“Yeah but it's so real you know I've never seen her before and I can't stop thinking about her and she looks a lot similar like that girl over there”, Sam said directing towards a girl sitting in the corner of the cafe

Zoya?, Bella asked with surprised face 

“I know I know it”, Sam nodded

“Sounds stupid maybe this dream is some kind of sign right this could be fate”, Sam said with excitement and hurried toward the corner of the cafe

“Sam wait”, Bella shouted

“How may I help you ladies”, the waiter asked to ladies

“We ordered large pizza not apple pie, is your ears upside down”, giggled one of the girl

Sam reached the table where the ladies were seated,

“Hi Zoya uh”, said Sam with hope 

“You don't know me and I don't know, How to say this but you kind of”, continued Sam but he was interpreted by Zoya

 “Do you guys hear someone talking to me”, said Zoya to her friends

 “I don't see anyone must be your imagination”, one of the girl replied and they all giggled in laughter

Sam felt humiliated, and this is what was breaking him from inside, since the accident, everyone had been acting strange and ignoring him, and the worst part was that he didn’t knew why.

Sam left the café with his eyes sticking to the ground and didn’t looked up until he reached his favourite place, an old unoccupied building

Sam sat at the open terrace looking at the city from there and recalled his days of life before the accident, everything was perfect and happy and now he was a guilt to his parents, and everyone neglected him.

while he was deep into his own sorrow thoughts he heard a sweet voice calling his name

He turned behind to look at her but he was amused and confused, that from where was the voice coming

“It's me Sam its me”, the voice echoed

“Who”, Sam screamed

He ran towards the voice to search for the source of it. 

“Sam Sam its me its hannah don't don't move don’t”, voice echoed again

He searched the whole building but couldn’t find her or anyone else, he knew he remembered the voice and it was from the girl he saw in his dream, who looked like the girl from the café.

Now he was horrified and scared and wasn’t able to come up with a solution for this voice and the girl haunting him.

He had no option but to share this with is sister and with that thought he ran home

When he reached home, he saw his mother with many letters which she just got from the post box

“Bills Bills what a surprise more bill”, mom said

“Hey mom mom”, Sam said but as always she ignored him without even looking at him and the suddenly a letter fell from her mother’s hand

Sam picked it up and to be surprised it had his name on it

He immediately open it and saw Hannah name on it too, he ran towards Bella’s room

“Bella Bella”, Sam shouted as he passed the letter to bella

Bella read the letter aloud in front of him

“Roses are red violets are blue you know

I'll never stop thinking of you of,  - Hannah

“where'd you get this”, was Bellas first response

“It's the girl let's go for my dreams”, replied Sam with fear and confused face

“Meet me tonight I'll be at the Bakers around the bar”, said the remaining letter

“that's after closing, you gonna go”, Bella asked sam,

“I don't know I mean I guess I should but then I have a really weird feeling about this you have to see her Bella she's so beautiful this is just something about her I'm gonna find out who she is”, Sam said while blushing

It was midnight and Sam reached the café exactly at midnight, he was amused to see that the café was still opened but the odds was that there was no one except a waitress that he hasn’t seen before

“About time you showed up, how are you”, the new waitress said

“What are you doing here, this place is supposed to be closed”, asked Sam

“Closed huh never let's just say we're the night shift”, replied the waitress

“Hot apple pie with a lemon tea”, said the waitress while serving him

“that's my favourite how'd you know that”, asked suspired Sam

“we know we know”, was all that the waitress replied

Sam ate the food while looking at the café, which he thought was closed after midnight

It had been 1 hour since Sam entered the café but still Hannah or the whatever her real name was didn’t show up, deep inside Sam was disappointed, he wanted to see her, talk to her, be with her.

Since the accident she was the first person who talked to him, beside his sister Bella

He was about to leave and he stood up looking at the exit door when he heard her beautiful velvet smooth voice again

“what's your hurry Sam I hope I'm not late uh”, Hannah said in her charming voice

“I thought you weren't gonna show”, Sam said with excitement

“I would never stand you up”, Hannah replied

“I can't you're wearing my ring”, Hannah said with an innocent smile on her beautiful face

“This is yours”, Sam asked but she cut him in between and asked

“let's dance”

“who are you, how do you know me”, sam asked surprised

“You must know you're wearing my ring”, hannah conceded

“But I thought”, Sam said while she again cut him in the middle

“It's almost time to go I want you to come with me”, she begged

“where you ? just got here”, Sam asked

“But it's almost time better hurry”, Hannah replied

suddenly she started behaving strange and disturbed her beautiful smile was now replaced with stress, her smoothing eyes were now in some pressure

“Oh it's too late too late oh I will wait for you Sam”, Hannah said and ran away from him

“Wait for what”, Sam screamed while running behind her to ask her what she meant

And then while running behind her, He stumbled with the chairs and fell down, As soon as he stood up, the café was dark, the music was cut off and the place was closed in a fraction of second,

Now Sam was worried and went directly ran towards home

“Bella Bella oh man you're not gonna believe this”, Sam said

“she was there, hannah met me”, Sam continued when bella stopped him, and showed him a newspaper cut out saying

“But wait before you say anything else, Is this the girl you been seeing”, Bella asked showing him her photo in the newspaper

 “Yeah yeah Hannah, but what’s she doing in the newspaper”, Sam asked with curiosity

“She's dead Sam, Bella replied with pale face

“She died in a car accident, Bella read out the newspaper, She was driving with her boyfriend and their car hit a truck, but they both got out of the car, but Hannah forgot her ring this ring that her boyfriend had just given her, so she went back to  get it, and the car exploded

“This ring she said I had a ring she was there Bella at the café tonight I swear it, I mean I talked to her, she's a ghost ? ,  By this time Sam was going crazy and freaking out he didn’t knew what is true and what is not

“And she said that she wanted me to go with her”, It's all because of this stupid ring, Sam said with shock as he went towards his room for some mental peace

Sam hurrdly started to remove the damn ring from her finger and then out of blue he heard her velvet voice again

she was there as beautiful as ever, standing in door

“Don’t run from me Sam I want you to come with me”, Hannah said

“Look take your stupid ring back I don't want it”, Sam said with fear

“Don't you understand it's about you, I thought you must have known that by, Hannah said

“Now just just leave me alone”, Sam said horrified

“It's time to go, its time to know the truth, you must know the truth, Sam , Sam are you”……

Now this was going beyond Sam’s control he shut his ears with both his hand and screamed in terror

hearing Sam’s scream Bella ran towards Sam’s room

“Okay what”, Bella asked

“Did you see her Oh?”, Sam asked as he examined the room, but Hannah was no where to be found, it was like she vanished in thin air

“Would you sit down and relax please”, Bella said assuming the situation

“Yeah okay when the ghost comes after you let's see if you can relax”, Sam replied

“Sam you sure it's the ring that's making all this happen”, Bella asked

“What do you mean man”, Sam asked

And then suddenly the telephone rang, disturbing the utter silence in the room

“Hello”, Bella said

And after a second with a strange and horrified face she said it's for you Sam, it's Hannah

Sam took the telephone with shaking hand and said “look this all some kind of joke and I'm not buying it anymore understand this isn't funny so just leave me alone,” in a single breath

“I'm sorry Sam I won't bother you anymore”, her velvet smooth voice had sorrow in it

“You still think this is all a joke you”, asked Bella in anger

“You know maybe all she wants is a ring back maybe I should give it to her”, said Sam with terror on his face

“Well how are you gonna do that you told her leave you alone’, Bella asked

“Well then then I gotta find her”, Sam replied

“How”, Bella asked

“She's a ghost I can think of a pretty good place to start”, Sam replied

Sam felt sad for himself and for Hannah, he was worried and scared but he thought she never harmed him and her smooth skin and her enchanting velvet voice that drew him towards her, on which he hand no control, it was like he was driven towards her

With all his courage he decided to visit the cemetery and to find Hannah’s grave and return her the ring

It was dark moonless night when he reached cemetery, it was so calm and quite that Sam could hear his own heartbeat that was racing like a nascar.

with his every step he was getting more scared and was regretting his decision to come here, but Hannah’s beauty and voice was giving him strength and while walking and lost in his thought he fell on a tombstone and heard a voice

“Hey you okay”, Bella asked

“Yeah yeah I'm fine huh just a little jumpy that's all”, Sam said

“Oh no look at this’, sam said pointing on the grave he fell on, it said Hannah, this is it, this is her grave, Sam said surprisingly

“You sure”, Bella asked

“Well yeah look at it”, Sam replied

“But how did you know that her grave would be right here”, Bella asked sam with strange eyes

“I didn't I just kind of”…..he said with vaguely and went completely blank  

Looking at him, as he went speechless and pale, Bella continued

“And you happened to wander away from me get lost and trip right over it, continued Bella with ominous voice

“What are you talking about”, Sam asked with shock

“You know exactly where she was buried Sam, Bella replied with anger

“why do you think that”, Sam asked with blank face unable to understand the situation

“What you mean, Maybe you've been here before did you ever think about that, Bella replied with confidence

“No way why would I have been here, I mean it's a cemetery, Sam said blankly with anger

Bella continued

“Why don't you tell me Sam you remember what happened in that car accident when you and hannah got out but she forgot her ring, her school ring, and then she went running back to the car to get it”

Hearing all this, Sam went crazy and he screamed loudly hearing this from Bella and fell on Hannah grave.

His eyes were moist now, he started to remember what happened that night, about Hannah about him, about the accident, it was like his memory was coming back, bit by bit but still he couldn’t remember the whole picture

His head started to hurt badly as the memory’s was flooding back and he coudn’t stop crying, he was choaking on his own guilt

“And then what happened Sam”, Bella asked slowly placing his hand on Sam’s back

“I turned back and ran towards her”, I tried to push her out of the car but it was too late, Sam said crying

And the he went silent and become pale white, his voice wasn’t coming out of his mouth, he was in deep shock, struggling hard he said

“It's me isn't it, looking at the grave besides Hannah grave, which had his name on it, Sam starred blankly at his name on the grave for several seconds.

“I'm afraid so, Bella said crying while showing him the other side of the newspaper on which Hannah was there, he was too in the newspaper

And that means I'm, he wasn’t able to complete his sentence in shock

“why didn’t you just tell me, Sam said angrily

“Because you didn't remember, you just came back from the accident and act as if nothing had happened Sam I was the only one who could see you and for some really weird reason you didn't remember the accident”, Bella said while crying

“You didn't even know you were dead! ”, Bella continued

“No wonder why mom and all ignored me all the time, like I never existed, Sam said while smiling with tears

“Well now that you know everything's gonna be okay we can still be a family and go on living and everything will be fine”, bella said

And while Bella was crying and explaining everything to Sam, they heard the velvet smooth voice again

“Sam is that you come back to me”, Hannah said Smiling

“Yeah I don't think I can stay”, Sam said with sorrow and tears in his eyes

“It's time Sam”, Hannah said with his velvet voice

Looking at Sam and Hannah, Bella said “Go after her you don't want to lose her again”

“I'm really gonna miss you and you're my favourite Sister Bella, Sam said with tears

I'm your only sister my Sam I love You, Bella said crying

Sam hugged Bella with all his power while crying, he didn’t know what to say, in the moment he took his ring off his finger and it came out easily without any efforts, he place it in Bella’s hand and kissed on her cheeks and with heart drowning in denial he said “Good bye”

Sam held Hannah hand and walked to the horizon and went on a new journey, leaving his old life behind

Bella was always going to miss Sam but it made her feel better to know that he was happy at last with the girl of his dreams
